The Oddbins Take

Imagine (insert here your favourite actor) dressed in white linen emerging from an orchard swinging a basket of freshly picked apples and lemons. Probably should make that actor someone French to authenticate the vision? Anyway, they are chewing on one of these crisp apples and you're invited to the house to make homemade lemonade. Suddenly a whole river- a really clean one from New Zealand wooshes past and sweeps the two characters away (You're including in this now) and plonks them down on top of a hill of fossil-rich clay. There you have it- This Petit Chablis. Apples, citrus, clean crispness and fresh minerality. Plus a couple of soggy Thespians that got saturated by the sudden intrusion of that river. But they are happy- this wine ain't too chablis at all.

Chablis is located at the northern most tip of Burgundy, France. The Alain Geoffroy estate is a small family owned business established in 1850. Growing about 45 hectares in the famous kimmeridgian limestone- the soil responsible for the wines of Chablis mineral driven flavours. One of our favourite producers from this area.
