The Oddbins Take

They Say

In 2010 whisky writer Jim Murray named Amrut Fusion single malt whisky as the third best in the world and its star is shining bright. Golden yellow in colour, it has aromas of barley-sugar shrouded in soft smoke. On the palate, it delivers full-blown peat, sherry trifle note and an intense, chocolate fudge middle which resonates through the resurgently peaty finish.

We Say

This is a splendidly rare marriage of peaty Scottish single malt and un-peated Indian single malt and the two come together fantastically well. Alter Ego: Gordon Ramsay; the fair-skinned Celt visited India for a cookery programme and, much like the good folk at Amrut Distilleries, managed to cook up quite a storm… Well-presented, with an inner heat that has garnered it many fans the world over.
