An iconic brand, Antica Sambuca is made by Rossi D’Asiago in the valley between Venice and the Dolomites Mountains.
Rossi D’Asiago distillery was founded in 1868 and gained itself a reputation for creating innovative products with intense aroma characteristics and smooth flavours. Over 100 years on, the brand was acquired by Francesco Del Toso, who refounded the company under the name Antiche Distillerie Riunite.
The family business is run by Francesco Del Toso and his children, Nicola and Patrizia. Their goal, when relaunching the Antica Sambucca brand into the market in 2004, was ‘redefining an old category and making it cool again’.
Now a leading brand of Sambuca, this sweet spirit owes its distinctive aniseed flavours to the steam distillation of star anise fruits along with infusions of sweet orange, coriander, iris and a number of other herbs. Velvety, sweet and intense yet smooth, it can be enjoyed on its own, in a variety of cocktails or in a long drink.
