(Max 1 per Customer) Released on 1st June 2013 to celebrate Ardbeg Day, this heavily peated and extremely limited edition ten year old has been aged in ex-Bourbon (60%) and Manzanilla (40%) casks. It is a liquid ode to the ancient and primeval peat bogs that have made Islay whiskies so world renowned. However, what “they” are also saying, more worryingly, is that they’ve sold out. This whisky has almost completely vanished, except for the handful you’ve stumbled across here at Oddbins…
(Max 1 per Customer) Rosemary, oak, leather, balsamic vinegar, caramelised pecans, cloves, smoked pork belly, mocha, salted anchovies, maple syrup, lavender, iodine, vanilla and chilli. With a tasting note like that, this is going to seriously divide people. Some will find it foul-mouthed and extremely offensive. But those in the loop will revel in its genius, its uniqueness, its exquisite delivery and the raw power it is capable of. On that basis this whisky can only be compared to one person… Alter Ego: Peter Capaldi; distinctly Scottish, but with a Mediterranean twist, and as elusive as Rory in The Crow Road. If the TARDIS has a drinks cabinet, it should be stocked with Ardbog.
