The Oddbins Take

They Say

Bunnahabhain's welcoming taste comes namely from our choice of location. In this particular spot, the whisky benefits from the breath of the bold sea on one side and on the other, the pure spring water of the underground Margadale River. The whisky is matured in first and second filled sherry casks giving intense notes of dried fruit, creamy caramel, hints of brine, vanilla nuts and a touch of smoky spice.

We Say

As if Bunnahabhain wasn’t hard enough to spell, they called their new whisky Stiureadair. Thank god for Google’s “did you mean” button or you may never have found this page. “Actually, I’m more of a Bing fan when it comes to search engines,” said no one ever. It’s a fantastic whisky though, intended to pay homage to the sea, I reckon a dram of this would even get a doth of the trident from good old Neptune. In fact, perhaps it was Neptune’s approval of Bunnahabhain that kept Kate Winslet on that door, shame about Leo.
