The Oddbins Take

As with many of the best things in life, Canard-Duchêne began with love. It was love that drew barrel maker Victor Canard, and wine grower Léonie Duchêne together, way back in the 1800s and it was their shared love of Champagne that inspired them to their own House in the Montagne de Reims National Park in 1868. With the elegance and finesse typical of the House, this rosé is charmingly fresh, bursting with vibrant pomegranate and strawberry flavours. Merci amour.

Canard-Duchêne was created as the result of the marriage of a barrel maker, Victor Canard, and a wine grower, Léonie Duchêne. In 2009, the house is still led by a family dedicated to making fine wines and champagnes. The Champagne house has been located in Ludes in the Montagne de Reims National Park since 1868. Its founders were granted the right by the Russian Imperial Family to adopt its coat of arms as the family emblem. The crowned two-headed eagle has thus appeared on every Canard-Duchêne label since the end of the 19th Century. The brand was an official supplier of the Tsar Nicolas the second.

Made with 45% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, with part of the reserve wines including red wines from Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. The wine was aged for 30 months, with a maximum of 10g/l dosage.

With the elegance and finesse typical of the House, this rosé is charmingly fresh, bursting with vibrant pomegranate and strawberry flavours.
