Tasmania…rugged yet beautiful, perilous yet breathtaking. It could be argued that Jansz are completely mad growing grapes in this wild and unforgivingly cold environment. But there’s méthode to their madness. The climatic conditions of the Jansz vineyard rival the famed wine region of Champagne. In fact, it was originally with French contribution that Jansz became Tasmania’s first sparkling made using the traditional Méthode Champenoise. Today, they call it Méthode Tasmanoise. It’s the essence of a partnership between the environment and their winemaker. Just as the cool Tasmanian climate creates spectacular beauty in nature, it is also instrumental in the creation of art in bottles. The vineyard speaks through every one of their wines – wines that are individual expressions of their birthplace. It is cool climate art.
