Laurent-Perrier at Oddbins

Laurent-Perrier Range

Treat yourself to a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Champagne from Oddbins.

Champagne Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 but the story is really one of modern renaissance. In 1939 Eugénie Laurent sold the House to the de Nonancourt family and in 1948 Madame de Nonancourt passed control to her son Bernard. Full of energy and ideas, Bernard was unafraid to challenge convention and had a modern vision of a champagne style that was lighter on the palate and could be enjoyed any time. He brought innovation and a pioneering spirit to the House, and so the Laurent-Perrier of elegance and freshness was born. Bernard de Nonancourt had prepared his succession for several years, handing over to his daughters Alexandra and Stéphanie who joined the House in 1987 and are now members of the Management Board. Today, the House of Laurent-Perrier is one of the great success stories in Champagne.

In 1998, the quality of Laurent-Perrier’s champagnes was officially recognised when HRH The Prince of Wales awarded Laurent-Perrier his Royal Warrant. The Warrant is only awarded to select products who The Prince of Wales sees as reflecting the best in their categories and these companies must also meet a code of good environmental practice. Laurent-Perrier remains the first and only champagne house to bear his Warrant.

From the new La Cuvée to the luxurious Grand Siècle, there is a champagne for every person and every occasion. Ideal when enjoyed as an aperitif, they are also fantastic when paired with food.

  1. Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose with Limited Edition Robe

Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé with Limited Edition Robe

***Bronze at the International Wine Challenge 2015***

Laurent-Perrier Rosé is the benchmark for rosé Champagne, you can now purchase it presented in an exquisite, limited edition gold "robe" cage. An ideal gift for the Champagne enthusiasts in your life.

Laurent-Perrier Rosé is not so much a Champagne as an adored institution. The delightfully squat, curvaceous bottle has something to do with its charm, admittedly, but it is, of course, the juice inside that has led to such acclaim.

Made with 100% Pinot Noir, Laurent-Perrier Rosé has a soft, dreamy texture and a ripe, almost baked strawberry and a vanilla-laced cream that are make this libation quite, quite magical. It's not sweet though - oh no - this is beautiful Brut is sweet enough...

Nicknames are funny things. They generally have some kernel of truth that inspired them, such as Alex "Hurricane" Higgins, Richard "Tricky Dick" Nixon and, of course, David "Golden Balls" Beckham.

So the fact that Laurent-Perrier's Demi-Sec was fondly called "Excellent" in the 19th century is nothing short of a glowing review of this curiously sweet, delicately toasty, expressively fruity little number.

We wonder what the kernel of truth was behind Tim Henman's nickname, 'Tiger Tim'... The mind boggles.
