Moët & Chandon

Moet and Chandon

We do hate to do this but let’s get this sorted straight off the bat, Moët is pronounced Mo-wette not Mo-way. You probably already knew, but we can’t stand by while snooty waiters across the country our able to say, “O dear, do you mean Mo-wette?” Now that we’ve got our umlauts in a row, Moët & Chandon was established in 1743 by Claude Moët and today is one of the largest and most prestigious Champagne houses owning 1,150 hectares of vineyards and produce around 28,000,000 bottles of Champagne a year. Moët & Chandon merged with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and with Louis Vuitton in 1987 to become LVMH (Louis-Vuitton-Moët-Hennessy), the largest luxury group in the world. Moët & Chandon champagne is renowned for a crisp, fruit-driven house style with elegant maturity.
