POL ROGER

Winston Churchill was in agreement with Napoleon, with regard to Champagne, regularly repeating his maxim, “In victory deserve it, in defeat need it!” We can’t imagine Churchill would see eye to eye with Napoleon on many other issues, then again, that’s what Champagne’s all about, bringing folks together. Yep, Churchill loved a tall glass of Pol Roger in fact, to this day, their premium Cuvee is named Sir Winston Churchill.

Pol Roger was born in 1831, starting as a wine wholesaler he opened his own Champagne House in 1849. Today, the house is still owned by his descendants. Located in the town of Épernay, the house produces around 700,000 bottles of Champagne a year and is admired across the wine industry; for those in the know, you can’t do much better than Pol Roger.
