The Oddbins Take

Did you know that Geoffrey Chaucer came from a long line of Vintners, based in Ipswich and London? In fact, his family may have even been selling wine from this estate, founded as it was, in 1080. Although his major work was set on a journey to Canterbury, in many respects this wine captures the essence of Chaucer. There is a clear romance of nature; set along the beautiful Loire, that Chaucer had the pleasure of travelling and with the winery converting to organic winemaking; there is a respect for the French landscape. A trailblazer and sophisticated we have no doubt the great British Francophile would've been honoured to have a sip on this wine while scribbling out The Book of the Duchess. P.S. All our knowledge of the life and work of Geoffrey Chaucer comes from the 2001 film A Knights Tale and thus should not be quoted in your Medieval Literature PHD.
