This ancient vineyard dates back to the XVth century and is located on a calcareous-clay hillside a few kilometres north-east of Saint-Emilion and has very similar soil and geology. Its highly prized location, along with careful winemaking, makes it one of the top wines of the Saint-Emilion satellite appellations.

Meticulous viticultural techniques are implemented in the vineyard to enhance the quality of the grapes, including increasing leaf surface area, canopy management and yield control when necessary, plus sustainable plant protection.

Château du Puy Bonnet uses cold pre-fermentation maceration for certain batches. The grapes are removed from the tanks manually in tubs and transported on a gravity-controlled conveyor belt to the press. A proportion of the wine is aged on its lees for topping up the barrels.

Initially supple and fruity on the palate, it has silky tannins and good length. Already drinking very well now, Château du Puy Bonnet is showing excellent cellaring potential and will drink well over the next five to eight years.
