The Oddbins Take

The Chateau Poujeaux 2007 vintage is strong on the nose with flavours of bell pepper and blackberry leaf, with joyous freshness. On the palate it is medium-bodied with dusty tannins, and a good level of acidity, finishing with touches of black pepper and smoke in a firm finish.

Neal Martin,, 1st November 2011: "Tasted blind at the 2007 Bordeaux horizontal in Southwold. The Poujeaux '07 has a strong nose of bell pepper and blackberry leaf, rendering it rather Chinon-like in style, but I appreciate the freshness and vitality. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dusty tannins, good acidity with touches of black pepper and smoke and a hint of meat towards the very foursquare finish. Not bad at all. Tasted January 2011."
