The Oddbins Take

Jonathan Maltus is the established maverick of Bordeaux - the novice Englishman who turned up at Chateau Teyssier in the 1990s, introduced new techniques, bought up new land and started producing stonking wine, the ‘garagiste’ way. This term refers to those making the bigger, bolder styles of Claret that emerged in that period, embraced by critics like Robert Parker. This Grand Cru is true to that style and is showing fine damson, plum, meaty and earthy flavours that should develop well with a few more years.
