The Oddbins Take

'Oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements,’ is how the old rhyme goes. The rhyme then proceeds to get extremely dark, terrorising children with threats of heads being chopped off. Which is a shame, because Oranges and Lemons could have made for a nice analogy for Gavi Mignanego, which also says oranges lemons.

This white wine also says lightly honeyed lemon and apple, although there isn’t a set of London bells that rhymes with apple. Do let us know if we’re wrong on that one though.

Gavi DOCG is located in the Piedmont region of Northwest Italy. The wines are made exclusively from the Cortese grape which is rarely seen outside the Gavi area.

Founded in 1952 in Reggio Emilia, Schenk Italia is one of the largest producers and exporters of Italian wines. In 1960 the winery was relocated to Ora where it is still based today and has been continuously adapted to remain up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies and quality systems.

After the grapes have been crushed, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to retain all the freshness and purity of the fruit and gain optimum flavours.

Slight honeyed note to the fruit, which includes lemon and apple, delivered on a light-to-medium body.
