The Glengoyne distillery claims to distil slower than any other distillery in Scotland and they dry their barley by air, never using peat. This slow, gentle process has, in the case if the 15 year old, resulted in a complex, sweet and rounded whisky, with a spicy oak finish. The rich, spicy flavours developed in hand-selected sherry casks are balanced with light vanilla notes.
Though ‘tis but a modicum, the whisky contained in this wee bottle is a precious thing, that dances between mesmerising vanilla and deep, Sherry-sweet spice. Alter Ego: David Miliband; though he has a smaller role to play that his (70cl) brother, he is still an impressive operator and has the ability to smooth waves wherever it goes with its easy, warm charm. However, unlike its brother, it would probably go quite well with a sandwich.
