The Oddbins Take

They Say

Founded in 1837, Glenkinchie is one of the six distilleries in Scotland’s Lowlands and is situated in a glen near the village of Pencaitland, about 15 miles outside Edinburgh. The 1996 vintage of the Distillers Edition range spent a while in old Amontillado sherry casks, whose flavours bolster this usually gentle, soft whiskey with biscuit notes and a slight toffee finish.

We Say

From cut hay and malted barley on the nose, to baking-type flavours of crumbly digestives and Hobnobs with a slight toffee finish. Alter Ego: The British; nobody loves a good biscuit as much as us Brits. So, while we’re not suggesting Glenkinchie Distiller’s Edition as a replacement to tea, it would probably go quite nicely with a chocolate Hobnob.
