Huber Grüner Veltliner Terrassen

The Oddbins Take

Grüner Veltliner is a great grape and Markus Huber has handled it expertly here. With peachy fruit, capsicum and lightly spicy notes, it pairs well with so-called “difficult” foods, like artichoke and asparagus. In human terms, that’s the equivalent of sticking Michael Palin in a room with Gordon Brown; if anyone is going to pacify an angry Scot, it’s Palin.

Rose Murray-Brown in The Scotsman, 27/9/14: "It's difficult to beat the young, energetic Markus Huber for quality and value for money: this is crisp and elegant with minerally depth."
33 year old Markus Huber is one of Austria´s rising winemakers, producing excellent dry white wines, especially Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, from the Traisental in east Austria. Named as wunderkind in Decanter magazine, having being named best white wine producer at the London International Wine Trade Fair 2011, Markus says his aim is to reflect the soil and the unique character of every growing season in his wines. The wines are counted among the best whites in Austria every year.
