The Oddbins Take

In June 2012 Oddbins launched a nationwide search for the UK’s finest amateur wine taster. After months of gruelling competition we found her: Fran “The Palate 2012” Evans. Fran bagged herself a luxury holiday to Tuscany, and the opportunity to choose a wine for our shelves. Having professed to be a staunch member of the anti-Chardonnay league, Fran surprised herself when she fell in love with this full-bodied and tropical, yet fresh wine. A worthy winner, a fabulous wine and a perfect illustration of Chardonnay’s versatility and ability to surprise. Highly endorsed by The Palate 2012.

Long-term friends, the Collovray family and Terrier families established a winery together in 1986, in their home region of Mâconnais in Southern Burgundy. They quickly gained recognition for their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. This led them to look for different region in France, with a similar climate, to again produce great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Hence, Domaine d'Antugnac was born in 1997 in the Limoux region of South West France.
