The Oddbins Take

An absolute whirlwind of a bestseller everytime we get this back into stock and a star inclusion to our range. Of course the proof of the pudding is always in the drinking - and this outstanding white does not disappoint. Pleasing to such a diverse range of palates, this wine is an admirable departure from a by-now familiar Marlborough style of fruity Sauvignon, and while the fruit is still here, it has an added note of minerality and strikingly good balance.

Alastair Scott established the Matahiwi vineyards and winery on a former dairy farm at the turn of this century. In 2002 winemaker Jane Cooper quite literally knocked on his door and joined him in his project. In 2004 they sold the first bottle of their first vintage to Oddbins, no less!
