Monkey Shoulder takes its name from the temporary injury suffered by the gentlemen who painstakingly turned the malting barley with big wooden spades during the whisky making process in the good old days. The whisky is a precise mix of three Speyside Single Malts each aged in bourbon casks. This premium blended malt whisky is as good as a many single malts, if not better. With its creamy and sweet notes of soft fruit, honey, toffee, wintry spices and oak, you can mix it or drink it neat, it always goes down smooth.
We can only compare this fine dram to one monkey… Alter Ego: Clyde; star of Every Which Way but Loose. Big, soft and luxurious, with a warm heart, perfect for taking the edge of even the most gravelly and hardened of tough guys (do you have any Clint Eastwood-esque friends?). Every Which Way but Loose was panned by critics, but when adjusted for inflation, it still ranks as one of highest grossing films of all time. So for all those “I don’t drink blends” guys, this is a future classic.
