The Oddbins Take

They Say

The Navigator is a limited edition whisky and travelled in the ‘Old Pulteney’ Clipper, which departed from London’s Tower Bridge on September 1, for the Old Pulteney-sponsored Round the World Race. The Navigator is matured in a mix of ex sherry and bourbon casks. Honeycomb coloured, with a full-bodied taste and bursts of honey, cocoa and oranges, the malt’s long-lasting, spicy finish delivers faint notes of the salty fresh air of the North Sea.

We Say

A coastal malt that navigates a delicious path between maritime and more honeyed fruity notes most admiral(bly). Alter Ego: Sailing champ and four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Ben Ainslie; feisty, athletic and salt-lashed, it has close ties to the sea and a propensity to kick up a storm, particularly in the direction of its Finnish neighbours (and you don’t want to make him angry). Despite the big manly talk, it has a heart (and a post box) of gold.

The Pulteney Distillery was established in 1826 in the heart of 'Pulteneytown', the town created to house fishermen during Wick’s herring boom.
