The Oddbins Take

Firstly, this isn’t wine for kids. We know it looks like a lighthouse and it has a toy train on it, but this is strictly adult fun only. Secondly, our contact at the winery is called Quintus Masson, which is one of the best names ever. However, remember that for the price of changing your name by deed poll you can buy two bottles of this and still get change. Finally, we challenge you to find a better value, crisper and more herbaceous Chenin Blanc than this little ripper.

The Porter Mill Station wines are made by the Tulbagh Winery, which was founded in 1906 and has produced quality wines ever since. Tulbagh has continued to grow and merged with Porterville Cellar in 2006. The emphasis remains to produce quality wines at great value. This wine is no exception; it’s a dry and fresh Chenin Blanc from one of South Africa's most up-and-coming wine regions. Herbs and nettles on the nose with tropical fruit on the palate, fresh acidity and good length. We think that Chenin Blanc is one of the most reliable food wines around, so this is a great all-rounder, but it loves a bit of spicy Asian food or seafood.
