Hegarty Chamans No 3

Tasting Notes : Deep crimson with a blackcurrant nose. Soft, ripe dark berry fruit with an underlying streak of minerality. Supple tannins, moderate acidity and good weight make this wine very approachable yet shows a serious edge too.

Method of Production : The estate grown grapes were picked by hand and vinified with minimum use of machines. The Syrah and Grenache components were destemmed, crushed and cold soaked prior to fermentation, whilst the Carignan went through carbonic maceration. Fermentation for all three occurred over three to four weeks in small concrete tanks, after which they were blended together, settled in tank then bottled without filtering.
