Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc

A classic Sauvignon from the famed Marlborough region of New Zealand, and second label to the award winning Vavasour outfit. The region's climate is characterised by cool nights followed by warm days which produces Sauvignon Blanc with typically fine flavour intensity.

Tasting Notes : Intense cut grass and green pepper aromas precede crisp, vibrant gooseberryfruit on the palate with good weight and a lovely long citrus finish.

Producer : Dashwood

Method of Production : The wine was produced from 50% Wairau Valley and 50% Awatere Valley fruit. The grapes were transported to the winery in the cool of the early morning and crushed immediately. Fermentation in cool stainless steel vats retained the vibrant, intense flavours and aromas.

Supremely accessible, full of rich passionfruit and citrus flavours, a hint of green pepper and enough steel to tingle the pallet. Better than several other Kiwi sauvignons I can think of and a few quid less to boot.

A "fine" wine delicious tastes of fruit with the acidic edge typical of the region. A real bargain at the price, buy the lot!
