Clos de los Siete

Product Code:

The name Clos de los Siete refers to the seven partners who make up the cutting-edge team of producers behind this wine, headed by the omnipresent Michel Rolland. This is the maiden vintage, which is already being hailed as a classic.

Tasting Notes : A complex nose with layers of plum, blueberry and boysenberry fruit is enhanced by chocolate, violet and mineral notes. The palate is muscular yet elegant, with great poise and the oak is well integrated on the lengthy finish.

Producer : Clos de los Siete

Method of Production : Handpicked grapes were sorted twice, both before and after destemming. The grapes were cold soaked in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks then fermented for five to seven days at 26 to 28ºC. After malolactic fermentation, one third of the wine matured in vat and the remainder in new French oak barrels. The wines were selected and blended before bottling.

layers of fruit and spices

A very complex nose of blackcurrant jam, blackberries, with spices, cloves and violets. It’s full bodied, lots of tannin that will keep it going for years to come (10 years or more). If you want to drink it now, decant it first and it will start displaying layers of fruit and spices with very nice integrated oak...

Hunt it out.

So complex, so long, so interesting; keeps you guessing till the end of the bottle. You'll struggle to find such a satisfying, brilliantly structured wine at this price.
