We're so excited about this wine! Think Chocolate Block, Dead Arm, Outsider, Cardinal Zin etc - yes this wine is set to join them in the pantheon of Oddbins legends. It's much, much more than just a blend of super premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Petit Verdot fruit. Somewhere amongst the vivid violet hued colour, the beautiful perfume, the plush velvet textured black cherry and cassis fruit, the savoury notes of spice, tobacco and dark chocolate, this wine has that indefinable 'X factor'. The question mark in your head that keeps you tasting mouthful after mouthful, glass after glass, bottle after bottle, in the forlorn hope that you might one day nail all the flavours. No chance.

Tasting Notes : On the nose, red fruits, pepper and coffee, in perfect harmony with the French oak leaving hints of chocolate. On the palate, ripe, powerful, great body, notes of dark chocolate, soft and sweet tannins which lead into a very long finish.

Method of Production : Handpicked estate-grown grapes were destemmed, crushed, and cold macerated for around a week. Each variety was vinified separately. Fermentation occurred over 15 to 17 days in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine was allowed to remain in contact with the skins for a further 10 to 15 days depending on the variety. The wine was racked to new French oak barrels where it went through malolactic conversion and matured for thirteen months. After the final cuvée was blended it bottled without filtration.
