The 3D stands for three dimensions, with this bottling having triple faceted layers: - malt of three ages at three peating levels was matured inthree casks types in three warehouses.
Tasting Notes : A full blooded Islay boy with sherry, vanilla and fruit coming to the fore backed by some peaty fire.
Producer : Bruichladdich
Method of Production : Barrels were selected from the 80's, 90's and 2002 with the spirit having been born of barley peated at 3ppm, 25ppm and 40ppm. The casks used were both Bourbon and Sherry barrels; and they had been stored in the warehousesat the distillery. Once vatted together the whisky was bottled at 46% alcohol without chill filtration or the addition of caramel.
Food Choice
Drink whilst in an armchair, this is too contemplative a malt to drink standing up!
