d'Arenberg 'The Footbolt' Shiraz
Product Code: 43430
Footbolt was a horse that the founder of d'Arenberg owned. Joseph Osborn was also one of the most successful racehorse owners in South Australia until 1912 when he sold this stable to buy the d'Arenberg property. It is thanks to the success of horses, especially Footbolt, that we have the d'Arenberg winery today. For many people it is this wine that introduced them to the range, and rightly so; it has the d'Arenberg hallmarks of concentration, power and fruit.

This is a fabulous Shiraz - packed with dark fruit and light toasty oak. Great value for money.

Excellent value, plenty of primary fruit flavours but much more subtle than I was expecting. Not quite the full-on, in your face type aussie shiraz you see all too often, rather a more refined affair putting a touch of elegance on the spicy edge of shiraz.

Possibly one of the best examples of Shiraz I've tasted for under £10. This wine boasts aromas of dark fruits and light oak on the nose and has a rich, complex mid-palate with a good length.

The best Shiraz under £10. Warm and smooth peppery tastes with subtle hints of the darker berries. More complex smells of chocolate, coffee and leather are there to be developed with age. A blinder to be enjoyed now and a definite to cellar.

Outstanding Aussie Shiraz, probably the best available at below a tenner, and that includes any underripe french Syrah that's trading on it's 'prestigious' appellation, I might add! Shiraz loves the Sun, baby!

I'm with the 2 positive reviewers, bags of flavour from the instant it hits your mouth. Very fruity and oozes class.
