Care Crianza

Cariñena, the largest and oldest of the Aragonese DOs, was one of Spain's earliest areas to be demarcated in 1932. Over the last ten years or so the local cooperatives and small bodegas have reshaped their wines for more modern tastes. This Crianza is a great example of this new direction: bold and round fruit flavours made from two thirds Cabernet and Merlot and a short period of American oak ageing.

Tasting Notes : The nose shows intense ripe cherry aromas with violet nuances. The palate is full of ripe black fruit flavours and creamy, spicy oak influences, with gentle mouth-caressing tannins.

Producer : Bodegas Añadas

Method of Production : The estate-grown grapes were destemmed, crushed and cold macerated for five days prior to being fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was kept in contact with the skins for a further fifteen days, after which it was pressed to American oak barrels for malolactic conversion and eight months' ageing. The wine was gently filtered before bottling.
