Gaia Agiorgitiko 14-18h
Product Code:
14-18h refers to the number of hours that the grape skins remained in contact with the juice. Agiorgitiko is a red variety, but it's possible to make almost all red-skinned grapes into white wine by avoiding skin contact. It's the skins that provide colour - the pulp inside is invariably 'white'.
Tasting Notes : Aromas of strawberry gateau, summer pudding and cherry cheesecake fill the nose. The palate is packed full of vibrant fruit flavours with a strawberry and cream flavoured finish.
Producer : Gaia
Method of Production : The fruit was sourced from vineyards growing on the slopes of the mountainous Koutsi and Klimenti regions of Nemea. Hand-picked, the grapes were pressed and the skins left to macerate in the 'must' for up to 18 hours, allowing colour to gently seep into the juice. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to retain the fruity aromatics of the variety.
