This is the introductory level to the Katnook range, and enlists the help of Tony Milanowski as winemaker. The aim is to capture the essential characteristics of Coonawarra in an early drinking, forward fruit style priced for everyday drinking. Considering Katnook's Estate Sauvignon Blanc is probably Australia best 100% Sauv, this bottling, using fruit from the same vineyards, is remarkably good value. Beware New Zealand you've finally got some serious competition from across the Tasman...

Tasting Notes : The nose has refreshing and appealing fruit aromas of gooseberries, citrus and cut grass typical of Sauvignon Blanc. The palate has more gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours with subtle floral and citrus notes. Mouth filling and zesty with a long crisp finish.

Producer : Katnook Estate

Method of Production : Grapes from Katnook's own estate were destemmed, crushed and the juice cold settled before transferred to temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Fermentation occurred between 11 and 14 °C for three to four weeks. The wine was then allowed to settle in tank before being fined, filtered and bottled.
