Distilled and bottled in St Petersburg, Russian Standard was inspired by the work of the scientist Dmitri Mendeleev, who identified the perfect balance between water and alcohol, which underpinned the original Russian Imperial Standard set by Tsar Alexander III in 1894. Made only from Russian Winter Wheat, with glacial water from Lake Ladoga in Russia’s frozen north, it is a remarkably smooth and pure vodka with soft mineral and lemon notes.
Hailing from Russia’s frozen north, Russian Standard has a dark, brooding image that belies the joy within. Alter Ego: Pyotr Ilrich Tchaikovsky; a perfect treat to indulge in in the cold winter months, possibly whilst cracking a few nuts, it has an expansive, almost operatic feel, as pure as glacial Arctic water, with an enchanting symphony of fresh fruity notes. A lovely Little Russian.
