Tomatin Whisky Meets Sherry PX

The Oddbins Take

Tom’s simple life in hogshead was thrown into turmoil when the famous Spanish wonder Pedro Ximenez appeared at the distillery. Their chance encounter bloomed into a full-blown love affair as their radically different lifestyles drew closer and closer together.

In awe of Pedro, Tom looked deep into his glossy bottle and said “I’m just a whisky, standing in front of a sherry, asking it to share its flavours.”

The pair put their differences aside and went on to live a long and harmonious life together, gorging on all the figs, raisins, apricots and plums they could find. It’s all rather sweet, really.

What's in this Giftbox

Located in Jerez, Spain, Bodegas Tradición was founded in 1998 by Mr. Joaquín Rivero. The origins of the Bodegas are based on the oldest sherry house known in the area, Bodega CZ, J. M. Rivero. With the business dating back to 1650, J. M. Rivero was, by appointment, supplier of the Royal Houses of Spain and Portugal.

Multi-award winning Tomatin Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky have joined forces with the Bodegas to present this limited-edition whisky and sherry case. In this innovative collaboration, casks that once held this outstanding Pedro Ximenez Sherry were sent to Tomatin Distiller in 2012, where they were filled with whisky that has been maturing since 2000 in Hogshead casks.

The PX Sherry was aged for 25 years on average and offers a well-balanced and sweet palate of figs, raisins, dried apricots and plums with notes of coffee and liqourice. The whisky takes on some of these flavours, presenting a syrupy sweetness and an abundance of dried fruits and spices. It is creamy with warming heather notes and oak followed by a long, sweet finish.
