Home to the famous Bordeaux appellations of Margaux, Pauillac, Saint Esphe and Saint Julien which account for the majority of wines produced in Medoc as a whole. The Haut-Medoc has the ideal growing conditions for the Cabernet Sauvignon grape which dominates plantings across the district.
