Haut-Médoc

Haut-Medoc is the southern section of the Medoc district in Bordeaux, accounting for two thirds of the district. Home to the famous Bordeaux appellations of Margaux, Pauillac, Saint Esphe and Saint Julien which account for the majority of wines produced in Medoc as a whole. The Haut-Medoc has the ideal growing conditions for the Cabernet Sauvignon grape which dominates plantings across the district.
