It may sound like it should be from Marlborough but this is pure Bordeaux Sauvignon, with a restraint, subtlety and elegance that is classically Old World but not at all old school. Young, zesty and fresh, with flavours that bring grass, nettle and asparagus to mind, rather than the big fat tropical fruits of Antipodean alternatives; all the better for pairing with simply grilled fish or light white meats. Old World wisdom with a nod to the New World ideas.
Stonerock Sauvignon is produced from a blend of the best grapes from select sites within the Entre Deux Mers region, and production employs the highest wine making standards. The winery philosophy remains the same - to always a produce a 100% Sauvignon Blanc of the highest quality, with depth and balance.
Strict selection of the grapes takes place both in the vineyards and at the cellar. Cold temperature fermentation is used throughout the process which takes place in state of the art cellars. The wine is left on its lees for three to five months to give it body and structure.
