The Oddbins Take

They Say

Woodford Reserve isn't manufactured, it's hand-crafted in small batches and the distillery is the oldest in Kentucky, with a history stretching all the way back to 1780. Made with 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt, triple-distilled and aged for six years, it boasts beautiful, warm flavours of butterscotch, cereal and spice.

We Say

Imbued with so much history you can taste it, this is the granddaddy of Bourbons. Alter Ego: Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum. (To be clear, this isn’t the same man who chased Peter Rabbit out of his garden) Softly spoken and genteel, with a pedigree that’ll make you do a standing salute out of sheer admiration, Woodford Reserve is classy and illuminating, with wide appeal.

Christopher Cooper in Good Things magazine, November 2015: "A proper sipping Bourbon, perfect for enjoying after dinner or sipping through the wee hours, sat in a comfy chair reading a book. Woodford Reserve is the definitive craft Bourbon, handmade in small batches, focused on quality and maintaining its unique, clean, smooth flavours."
The Woodford Reserve Distillery is one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in america. It was launched in 1812 by Oscar Pepper who settled on the Woodford County farmland as the base for his distillery, using the Grassy Springs Creek behind the current-day Distillery to begin making his own Kentucky Bourbon.
