The Oddbins Take

If you're a man such as Jacob Reece-Mogg, who's education gave you a thorough grounding in Latin along with numerous other dead languages, you may well announce 'carpe diem' before you decide to bring your nanny to a charity event for the upper middle classes. However, if you're a bit more in touch, you might holla YOLO (or get it tattooed on your wrist if you're Zac Efron) before making bold decisions.
It's a moto John & Lane Giguiere embraced when they purchased vineyard land in the Dunnigan Hills AVA in 2002. They sought to make a Chardonnay that they would enjoy, ripe yet crisp and refreshing with notes of pear, white peach and honeydew melon, opposed to over-oaked wines that were the fashion at the time. When sipping on Black Station Chardonnay it's clear the gamble paid off, being in Yolo County, the winery appears to be well situated!

They told us there was no such thing as a perfect wine case, "there's no way you can satisfy all palates, moods and occasions, you're a fool for even trying," they chortled. We can't remember who this fictional antagonist was but boy we proved them wrong!

We heard you! And we understand it's not that easy. We also understand that the last thing you want to be doing after a long day of responsible consumption choices, is to wander around a shop trying to fathom which wines haven't been fined using egg-white (yes, that's a thing).

Which is why we've done the hard work for you. We've selected some of our favourite vegan-friendly red and white wines for you to try, so you can prove to any sceptical friends that being vegan doesn't mean you have to miss out on the good stuff.

Don't forget, the full Oddbins range of vegan friendly wines can be found here.
