The Oddbins Take

The Prince of Montepulciano wanted to throw a party, it was a Friday night and he felt like kicking back after a tiring week of abusing the concept of divine right. He sent invitations to all the winemakers of Tuscany because he rightly knew, they party the hardest. All but Capoverso, a beautiful winemaker who was subjugated by some step sisters.

Her godmother or whatever allowed Capoverso to go to the party, she took her finest bottle of wine with her. The Prince sampled the rich bouquet of sour cherry, roasted almonds and coffee on a harmoniously structured body and immediately fell in love. However, Capoverso had to leave the party early, to the great distress of the Prince.

He hunted high and low trying to find the wine he had tasted the previous night eventually arriving at the Capoverso winery. He declared, “I am your Prince and wish to buy all of your wine!” Capoverso responded “you might be a Prince, but I live in an anarcho-syndicalist commune and all the people deserve this wine, not just you, you selfish git!” The story spread, and the wine colloquially became known as the noble wine of Montepulciano!
