The Oddbins Take

We don’t want to be considered apologists for the Roman Empire; what they did to Maximus Decimus Meridius was bang out of order, even if he will have his vengeance, in this life or the next! That said, what they don’t know about wine isn’t worth knowing… take that thermovinification.

The vineyards of Château Rouget have been recognised as being exceptionally well suited for grape growing since the time of the Roman Empire. A reputation that has continued to this day, with grapes being made into one of the finest wines in Pomerol. Chateau Rougeot has a velvety, yet well-structured palate with bright flavours of damson, black cherry and dark forest fruit, while harmonising with notes of spiced truffles, tobacco and smoked cedar. You know what they say; ‘do as the Romans do, as long as it’s not betraying a noted legionnaire played by Russell Crowe… as that won’t go well for anyone.’ [sic]
