The Oddbins Take

Tania and Luigi Morinello, winemakers at Tenuta Moriniello, are perhaps the most prolific brother and sister team since Adele and Fred Astaire… Not that Adele! Although, that said we’d pay to see, "Hello Wembley! I will play Rolling in the Deep, but before that, who'd like to see my turn of the century brother perform some vaudeville dance?" Then Adele descends into a 6-minute rant about being replaced by Ginger Rogers. They don’t have entertainment like that anymore!

Tania and Luigi are focused on making high quality, traditional Chianti on their family estate, with a focus on organic vineyard management and minimal intervention winemaking. Grapes for the Chianti La Pieve are grown at a fairly significant altitude retaining excellent aromatics and acidity. The wine has a beautiful palate of maraschino cherry and blackberry, with underlying hints of forest floor, tomato leaf and a subtle balsamic character. A much better use of sibling expertise than choreographing a nice tap dance routine, we reckon!
