Clynelish 14 Year Old - Highland

The Experience

Alter Ego...
Old Man of Hoy

The Oddbins Take

They Say

A highland whisky with a real coastal twang. Nestled into the village of Brora, Sutherland, Clynelish has a strong connection with Johnnie Walker (particularly the fancy one with the gold label). Wax, brown sugar, dried flowers, salty sea spray, pepper, cream and a little touch of pear are all bound up in this wee tot.

We Say

One of Scotland's most rewarding and unique malts. Comparison to a flesh and blood person wouldn't do it justice. Alter Ego: Old Man of Hoy; we know the Old Man is from a different part of Scotland, but both are sea swept, rugged and monumental Scottish icons that grabbed the public's imagination in the late 60s (the Orcadian being climbed by Sir Chris Bonington on the BBC and the distillery being rebuilt, allowing it to produce this classic malt).
