Maquis Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva 2018

The Maquis Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect representative of Maquis´ wines. A fresh and complex wine that showcases ripe red fruits, plums and black cherries on the nose which are accompanied by fresh acidity and a great tannic structure. The Maquis Gran Reserva is aged in French oak barrels that add unique notes of coffee and vanilla. This wine is very well balanced and holds a long finish.

Wine aged in 225L and 400L French oak barrels for 12 to 36 months depending on the wine and vintage. Early blending. Our Master blender Eric Boissenot decides on the blends two or three months after harvest so that each blend has plenty of time to develop and gain complexity while aging in barrels.

During the XIX century, Maquis was owned by two Chilean presidents who felt proud of their property, organized some cabinet meetings in Colchagua. In 1916, Maquis was bought by the Hurtado family who wished to develop a fine wine business.
The former Maquis winery is one of the oldest in the Colchagua Valley and has been owned by the Hurtado family for four generations.
