Fortified Wine

Fortified wine is for life, not just for Christmas. There is something about winter though isn’t there? It just makes you want to sit in a leather arm-chair, next to a roaring fire (don’t worry it’s in a fire place, it’s not just running lose through your study) sipping on a perfectly aged vintage port, our Croft’s 1994 , for example. Perhaps, coming in from the snow and warming yourself with a sweet sherry or madeira. These are legitimate and lovely vignettes. They are not, however, the only images. Crank up those Bryan Adams’ playlists because fortifieds are turning into the “boys of summer.” Whether it’s white port kicking in the door of cocktail bars or a Fino sherry, like Tio Pepe, making an appearance at your picnic. It’s becoming clear fortifieds are fit for all seasons.
