On the palate wines taste light bodied with racy acidity and moderate alcohol. The finish is long and well balanced, overall a perfect expression of the Sauvignon grape variety.
One of the great Domaines of Pouilly. Jean-Claude Chatelain together with his son Vincent, own some of the best land at Les Berthiers where the silex soil helps to produce fine, aromatic wines of great intensity. Domaine Chatelain was established in 1630. It is now in its 12th generation, and the winery is responsible for 30 hectares of vines.
Vincent Chatelain prefers to cultivate his vineyards without weed killers to have minimal impact on biodiversity and quality of grapes. Plots are individually, harvested, pressed, fermented, and aged before final blend in made just before bottling. This allows Vincent to create harmonised blends for each of these wines.
