This Pouca Roupa Red wine offers ripe red and black fruits, a great structure, and strong character. It's ruby red in colour with expressive violet tones. The red fruit aromas of cherry, blackberry and cassis are surrounded by soft balsamic notes and spices of vintage French oak. A rich and satisfying red made from traditional grape varieties. Pouca Roup means 'few clothes' or 'scantily clad', and takes its name from one of the vineyard houses.
In 1997 the first hectare of vines was planted at the home vineyard and work started on the winery. Just three years later the winery had to be tripled in size to cope with the growth in sales and success of the wine. These days the winery is responsible for more than 6 million bottles of wine annually and sells Portugal's leading brand, Marques de Borba.
