The Oddbins Take

We all need a go to lager in our life. A beer that at the end of a hard day we can rely on to be waiting to welcome us home, like a wife from the 20s… or a wife from a Matt Groening sitcom that are still some how on the air in 2019. People must still be watching the Simpsons, you probably walked past someone today who was on their way home to watch a new episode of the Simpsons! Let that sink in.

Your go to lager could be a beer that claims to be from Belgium but is actually made in a super brewery in Herefordshire, but we recommend something with a little more identity. A crisp and refreshing unfiltered Pilsner, brewed and dry-hopped with traditional Noble hops. Five Points Pils is a distinct, modern version of this classic lager style, canned by independent, Hackney based brewers. While you can’t rely on the consistency of your former favourite sitcom, you can rely on this refreshing, toasty and citrus scented pilsner.

About The Brewery

The Five Points Brewing Company is an independent brewery based in Hackney, London, brewing with a commitment to quality and the community since 2013.

Championing flavour, provenance, consistency and quality, their range of award-winning beers are unfiltered and unpasteurised for a better flavour and aroma. Five Point beers are inspired by the founders’ passion for both the British real ale tradition and the best of the international craft beer movement. Their flagship beers are complemented by regular limited and small batch releases including a barrel-aged project.

The Five Points Brewing Company are committed to the local and wider community – they were the first brewery in the UK to be an accredited Living Wage Employer and are proud to pay the London Living Wage. All their electricity is sourced from 100% renewable sources. They helped to establish an apprenticeship scheme for training brewers and they work to support local charitable, arts and community projects.
