The Oddbins Take

They Say

Menton, a small town in the south of France, is the legendary lemon-growing region of Europe. Menton lemons are larger and thicker-skinned than their Western counterparts. These irregularly shaped lemons are milder and less acidic. The thicker peels yield higher levels of essential oil, making Menton lemons the favourite of respected French chefs.

We Say

Elbert Hubbard was an interesting man, some of his more peculiar beliefs were that Leo Tolstoy was a prophet and Jesus was an anarchist. To be fair, kicking those bankers out of the temple was pretty right on. Yet on one particular point we must disagree with Elbert. Hubbard famously coined the phrase “if life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” surely, he never tried Grey Goose Le Citron. For if Elbert had tasted this clean flavoured vodka with fresh lemon notes and a subtle fruitiness, suggestive of the floral, zesty nature of the fruit, he would have certainly declared when life gives you lemons, make a martini!
