The Oddbins Take

What are the big differences between Australians and the French? Asked no one... Watch a fencing bout between the two nations and the cultural differences will become clear, as the French athlete performs a perfect Coulé only for the Australian to repost with the comment “call that a rapier? This is a rapier!”

Perhaps the biggest difference is while the French have a reputation for being romantic and steeped in tradition, the Australians are a little more pragmatic and down-to-earth. So, is one better than the other? We hear no one ask, once again. This wine would be evidence that a little of both cultures is best; a traditional heady French blend, grown in hardy Australian soils delivers a wine of succulent raspberry, blackberry, savoury spice and mocha notes layered on smooth tannins and an enticing texture.

If this wine was in France It might be considered a Grand Cru but the Aussies are far too down-to-earth for such illustrious titles, hence this wine is known as ‘Grounded Cru’ - the best of both wine worlds!
