The Oddbins Take

They Say

The Arran 18-year-old is a wonderfully balanced expression of The Arran Malt which displays the tremendous depth of character of our Distillery.

Caramelised citrus and tropical notes on a background of toasted oak have created an intense, well rounded dram with charm and personality. A balanced mix of our finest aged ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon Casks, this fully mature expression of The Arran Malt is exceptional.

We Say

When we need to get away from it all, whether it’s because we’re sick of the hustle & bustle, we need an off-season hotel to write our sommelier spy novel like Jack Nicholson or because of a zombie apocalypse, we’re going to the Isle of Arran. In between Campbeltown and mainland Scotland, the Isle of Arran is beautiful, remote and to our knowledge totally zombie free, ticking all the boxes for our perfect safe place. The true virtue of the island however, lies in the magnificent Arran distillery. Reopened in the mid-90's and since then their renown has gone stratospheric. Being such a young distillery, the 18 year is one of their oldest bottlings, expressing a powerful palate of baked peaches, baking spices and roasted almonds. A whisky worthy of the end of the world.
